IMM has been qualified as ‘The BEST’ by the Association for Talent Development (ATD) – the most reliable global authority in human resources.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) achieved a significant success by winning the ATD’s The BEST awards based on its exemplary accomplishments in a platform where many global companies integrating talent development with organization strategies compete with each other.

Yiğit Oğuz Duman, Advisor to the Mayor in Charge of Human Resources Management & Organizational Development, stressed that the award bore great importance for the IMM and Turkey. Duman added that investing in human was an essential condition for success. Underlining his trust in his collaborates, Duman expressed that they have been focusing on maintaining all the support and development opportunities for their success and continued:

“Particularly during the pandemic period, with a limited budget we managed to win the race where we competed with our inspirational activities in training and development areas. In this race, we competed with major global companies that invested large sums in the development of their staff. We have been proceeding towards becoming a local and global brand with our successful HR implementations. We have been enjoying the rightful pride of representing Turkey in the international arena.”

IMM AMONG LEADING CORPORATE ACADEMIES

For achieving a fairer, greener and more creative Istanbul along with the new generation municipal approach, with its Academy, IMM has been making its mark on groundbreaking accomplishments under the guidance of Ekrem İmamoğlu and IMM’s senior team.

In line with the motto “We are Young”, IMM supported the development of the young people employed at IETT, ISKI, 28 subsidiary companies and within its body. When advancing the executives of the future, IMM based its “Young Talent Development Program” carried out for 2 thousand young people under 30, with a graduate or post-graduate degree and 5-years’ professional experience, on the future’s competencies.

Designed according to the OECD’s “The Future of Workplace, 2030” report, the Young Talent Development Program has been designed particularly to improve the capabilities and skills of the young people employed at IMM, IETT, ISKI and 28 IMM subsidiary companies. This journey towards progress has been launched with a kick-off event that featured inspirational speakers and IMM executives, continued with e-training courses, webinars, case studies and field experience. Finally, development processes that directly shaped the outputs such as development camps where young employees generated projects in teams for adding value to Istanbul with their design-oriented approaches have been actualized.

With a focus on “Equal Opportunity in Development” and “A Merit-Based Organization” principles and guided by science, IMM will continue to make a difference by blending the latest technologies and new generation learning methods to render its subsidiary companies and affiliates’ workforce more qualified.

EVALUATION OF TALENT DEVELOPMENT

ATD, a global and professional membership association that supports the organizations developing the know-how and capabilities of their employees, also hosts the world’s most significant talent development conference.

Since 2003, world-wide held activities based on talent development are being evaluated within the ATD BEST Awards context. Organizations that create added value in line with their targets and strategies are deemed worthy of the award. The evaluation is based on an organizations’ capacity to demonstrate their talent development with practices and outputs.

Previously, ATD BEST Awards were granted to our country’s major companies such as İşbank, Danone Turkey, Tofaş Türk Otomobil Fabrikası A.Ş., Yapı Kredi Bank, Garanti Bank, Turkcell, Denizbank, TEB, Teknosa and Migros.
